Actively involved in the not-for-profit sector, with several key voluntary leadership roles, the most prominent of which is my work with the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), one of the world’s largest private, not-for-profit, non-denominational development agency focused on the alleviation of poverty, supporting an annual budget of $1 billion
Enthusiastic comic collector, proudly curating a treasure trove of iconic assets that embody the rich legacy of comic book history
Avid poker player, competing at various levels from house games to major tournaments on the WPT and WSOP circuit

My Expertise

Muizz’ lifelong passion with technology and media stems from his bachelors and master’s in engineering followed by a nine-year history as a software engineer, particularly his final four years as head of software engineering for disruptive media and entertainment startup, NXSystems, LLC. After securing his MBA, Mr. Kheraj pivoted his career towards advising and supporting entrepreneurs through their next phase of growth, advising clients within the digital marketing, media & entertainment, and tech-enabled business service sectors. Mr. Kheraj has sat on a number of boards as an insightful coach helping entrepreneurs build spectacular tech-centric organizations. His advisory expertise extends across several emerging industries within the tech, media, and entertainment landscapes.

My Bio

Muizz Kheraj is a Managing Director in Cascadia’s Business Services group based in the Los Angeles office. Muizz has spent over two decades in technology, both as a software engineer and as an experienced M&A advisor to middle market entrepreneurs. Mr. Kheraj has led, managed, and closed numerous transactions representing, in aggregate, over $3 billion in transaction value and liquidity for clients. Transactions have included M&A, debt and equity capital raises and recapitalizations, business valuations, and strategic reviews.

Prior to Cascadia, Mr. Kheraj led the M&A technology and media practice at FocalPoint Partners and subsequently at B. Riley Securities, pursuant to B. Riley’s acquisition of FocalPoint in 2022. Before B. Riley, Mr. Kheraj spent five years building out the technology, media, and tech-enabled business services practice at McGladrey Capital Markets LLC. Mr. Kheraj’s passion for technology and media stems from his nine-year history as an engineer, particularly his final four years in a leadership role at the tech and media startup, NXSystems, LLC. At NXSystems, Mr. Kheraj helped to launch the first IP-based entertainment system for the hospitality environment, pioneering the Video-on-Demand solution that continues today to serve many of the most prestigious brands in the world including Four Seasons, Peninsula, W Hotels, St. Regis, Omni, and the JW Marriott.

Mr. Kheraj currently sits on a number of boards as an insightful coach helping entrepreneurs build spectacular tech-centric organizations. His advisory expertise extends across several emerging industries within the tech, media, and entertainment landscapes.

Mr. Kheraj holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, a Masters in Electrical Engineering from California State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a CFA charterholder, is certified as a Financial Risk Manager, and holds FINRA Series 7, 63 and 79 securities licenses.
