Cascadia Private Capital is the merchant banking arm of Cascadia Capital, the leading investment bank in the Pacific Northwest. We make patient, direct investments in companies looking for alternatives to institutional capital by bringing in Family Office and other like-minded pools of capital. We invest $5 to $50 million of equity in established cash-flowing businesses generating $3 to $25 million of EBITDA. Private Capital is ideal for situations in which owners are not seeking a full exit and are not ready for, or do not want a traditional private equity partner. Rather than forcing a structure defined by traditional fund parameters, our approach is to listen to the owner, take time to understand their concerns, considerations and objectives and then design a custom solution to achieve their goals.
We identify investors whose interests and values are aligned with owners and can contribute more than just capital. Our investors have built and owned great businesses and have a unique appreciation for a much broader set of considerations (e.g. Value, Taxes, Family, Estate Planning, Employees, Legacy, Community, Governance, Reputation, Brand, Philanthropy, Diversification, etc.). Private Capital commits to the Company long term and aligns its interests with the Company and investors by “rolling” a portion of its fees into the deal and by serving on the board of the Company to help effect its strategy. We also draw on the full industry expertise, relationship network and market intelligence of Cascadia Capital to be true value-add partners.
As part of our private capital business, we have formed an Investment Club whose members are a select group of leading family offices and like-minded capital providers. The Investment Club makes long term, patient direct investments in privately held companies headquartered in the Pacific Northwest. It is seeking to invest $300 to $500 million, with a target of $25 to $75 million per investment.
