Cascadia Capital, an investment bank serving middle-market clients globally, is pleased to announce that Super-Sod (or the “Company”), a portfolio company of Heartwood Partners and a leading provider of premium sod, soil, seed, and complementary solutions for R&R-focused applications, has been acquired by Kainos Capital, a Dallas-based private equity firm.

This transaction reflects Cascadia’s deep expertise across the Food, Beverage, & Agriculture and Consumer industry groups and underscores the firm’s ability to work seamlessly with top-tier private equity firms on growth-oriented transactions.

Super-Sod is the industry standard for lawn care solutions, offering premium, certified sod, soil, and seed to a dedicated base of professional and DIY customers across the southern U.S. Driven by cutting edge technology, superior logistics capabilities, and a differentiated omnichannel approach, the Company continues to disrupt the fastest-growing, highest-margin segments of the market.

“Heartwood Partners is an experienced investor with a strong track record of partnering with management teams to drive long-term value creation,” said Scott Ames, Managing Director at Cascadia Capital. “We were pleased to advise Heartwood and the Super-Sod management team in bringing together partners aligned around the Company’s continued growth.”

“It was a pleasure to work with Heartwood Partners, and we appreciate the opportunity to play a role in this important transaction,” added George Sent, Head of Food, Beverage and Agriculture at Cascadia Capital.

The investment by Kainos Capital will further accelerate Super-Sod’s growth strategy, expand its geographic footprint, and utilize its strong retail presence to expand to new segments of the outdoor products market.
