Headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, Barrier 1 is a designer and manufacturer of advanced perimeter security and safety systems serving government agencies and commercial customers. The company offers a portfolio of highly engineered and proprietary crash-rated nets, barriers, beams and detection systems designed to provide physical protection, access control, and hostile threat mitigation.
Barrier 1’s customizable solutions protect critical infrastructure and high-security environments, including government buildings, data centers, entertainment venues, military installations, airports and law enforcement facilities.
Drawing on its deep sector expertise and proprietary relationships with active buyers in the niche perimeter security market, Cascadia was able to execute a highly curated process focused on a select group of targeted strategic buyers known to have the capabilities and resources necessary to capitalize on Barrier 1’s market potential and support its next phase of growth.
“Barrier 1 has built a highly differentiated and strategically relevant platform within the specialized perimeter security market,” said Michael Del Pero, Managing Director at Cascadia Capital. “Perimeter security and access control continue to be an area of focus for Cascadia. We have seen growing interest from both strategic acquirers and financial investors as investment in critical infrastructure protection and homeland security more broadly continues to be a strategic priority across government and commercial end markets. This transaction reflects that momentum, and we are thrilled to have had the opportunity to work alongside the Barrier 1 team to find the right strategic partner for the Company moving forward.”
“Partnering with Global GRAB is the perfect next step for Barrier 1,” added Jamie Parsons, President of Barrier 1. “Over the years, we’ve built a business that our customers trust to protect the facilities and infrastructure that matter most. Partnering with Global GRAB will allow us to bring that capability to a broader platform with even greater reach. I’m proud of what our team has built, and I’m thrilled to be partnering with Global GRAB given what I believe we can accomplish together.”

The asset has been deemed a critical mineral resource by the US government and Cascadia’s Equity Capital Solutions (ECS) team is pleased to have helped facilitate a private / public partnership to secure this important reserve.
The transaction reflects the Cascadia team’s ability to develop tailored equity solutions for complex, often esoteric, middle-market transactions. Cascadia ECS works across sectors and geographies to connect institutional capital with companies and sponsors executing acquisitions, growth initiatives, recapitalizations, and other strategic initiatives.
Strategic Bauxite is an independent private equity sponsor and metals and mining sector specialist. The acquisition provides Strategic Bauxite with a vertically integrated, high-grade refractory bauxite platform in Guyana with significant long-term growth potential.
First Bauxite operates the Bonasika mining and beneficiation complex, producing high-purity refractory-grade bauxite for a range of industrial applications, including refractories and steelmaking, water treatment, flame retardants, abrasives and welding, and glass manufacturing. Its Bonasika operations are supported by an extensive mineral resource base with a mine life of more than 20 years, as well as additional opportunities across high-purity quartz sand and clay resources.
The transaction brought together private sector capital and significant U.S. federal government support to facilitate the acquisition and future growth of a strategically important critical minerals platform. The investment is expected to support increased production and expanded downstream processing and refining capabilities while creating additional value-added activity in Guyana.
“The First Bauxite transaction is a strong example of the unique opportunities that our Equity Capital Solutions platform specializes in — Cascadia formed a syndicate of highly sophisticated investors, fully aligned on the future of the Bonasika assets,” said Michael Kahn, Director, Equity Capital Solutions at Cascadia.
Sim Ketchum, Co-Head of Equity Capital Solutions at Cascadia Capital, added, “The deal is very timely given securing reliable, diversified sources of refractory-grade bauxite has become a priority for both the U.S. public and private sectors. We were pleased to advise Strategic Bauxite on the acquisition and its equity raise. It brings together private investment and the U.S. Department of War’s Economic Defense Unit around a high-quality, vertically integrated critical mineral operation with significant growth potential.”

It is a moment we look forward to each year: a new group of talented young professionals joining our team, ready to learn the craft of investment banking and contribute to the work we do for our clients.
Cascadia has always believed that the strongest working relationships start early. That belief shapes how we bring on and develop new talent, and it reflects who we are as a firm: independent, collaborative, and committed to growing careers from the ground up.
We are proud to invest in the next generation of bankers, and we look forward to the energy, curiosity, and hard work this class will bring to Cascadia in the years ahead.
Welcome to Cascadia.
Cascadia Capital, an independent investment bank serving middle-market clients globally, is pleased to announce that Everett W. Currier III has joined the firm as a Managing Director to lead the firm’s Energy, Power & Infrastructure Practice within the Industrials investment banking group.
Mr. Currier brings more than 25 years of experience advising companies, investors, and capital providers across the energy and industrial value chain. His expertise spans renewable power, battery energy storage systems (BESS), energy transition services, grid infrastructure, and energy-related supply chains.
Mr. Currier joins Cascadia from Lincoln International, where he led the firm's Energy Transition investment banking efforts. Prior to Lincoln, he spent more than two decades at KeyBanc Capital Markets, serving as Managing Director and helping build one of the largest U.S.-based renewable energy investment banking platforms.
At Cascadia, Mr. Currier will advise public and private companies, sponsors, and institutional investors on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and strategic alternatives. He brings deep experience across the full value chain, helping companies and investors navigate evolving market dynamics, capital deployment opportunities, and strategic growth initiatives.
"Cascadia has a long history advising companies and investors across energy and clean technology markets, having established our presence in the sector nearly 20 years ago," said Michael Butler, Chairman and CEO of Cascadia Capital. "Everett is one of the most experienced advisors in the space, and his addition represents a significant step forward in our ability to serve clients across the energy transition ecosystem and broader industrial landscape."
"The energy and industrial sectors are undergoing significant transformation, creating new opportunities for companies and investors alike," said Everett Currier. "I was drawn to Cascadia's sector-focused approach and entrepreneurial culture, and I look forward to helping clients identify opportunities and navigate complexity across these rapidly evolving markets."
Mr. Currier brings a strong understanding of capital deployment challenges amid geopolitical and economic uncertainty. He works closely with companies and investors navigating supply chain constraints, regulatory changes, and evolving investor priorities across the energy and industrial landscape.
The addition of Everett further expands Cascadia's Industrials investment banking group, which serves clients across a broad range of sectors including industrial technology, manufacturing, packaging, specialty electronics, auto-aftermarket, and energy-related infrastructure.
Everett Currier serves as Managing Director at Cascadia Capital where he advises corporations and institutional investors on energy transition investments, divestitures, and strategic alternatives. With two decades of experience in private investment and capital markets, Everett brings a nuanced understanding of how shifting global trade and related policies reshape capital flows and risk adjusted returns. He works closely with clients, both public and private, who are either already invested or looking to optimize growth potential across the energy transition sector. His focus includes grid infrastructure, solar power, battery storage, energy services, and renewable supply chains – areas that are strategic to sustainability and U.S. supply chain security. He brings a strong understanding of capital deployment challenges amid geopolitical and economic uncertainty, helping clients adapt to supply chain constraints, regulatory changes, and evolving investor priorities.
Prior to joining Cascadia Capital Everett led the Energy Transition effort for Lincoln International, Everett also spent 20 years as a Managing Director at KeyBanc Capital Markets.

Cascadia Capital, an independent investment bank serving middle-market clients globally, is pleased to announce that it served as the exclusive financial advisor to Interconnect Solutions Company (“ISC”, or the “Company”) on its sale to Cogenuity Partners (“Cogenuity”), a middle-market private equity firm focused on partnering with critical businesses within the advanced industrial economy.

As a result, investor and buyer interest in companies well-positioned to benefit from those trends continues to remain at peak levels. It was a privilege to work with the ISC team, and we are excited to see the Company continue to grow and succeed under Cogenuity’s ownership moving forward.”
Cogenuity is a private equity fund investing in critical advanced industrial businesses, with a focus on partnering closely with management teams to drive sustainable long-term growth and optimize operational value creation.

Wind Point acquired the company on December 8, 2025. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Based in Grand Prairie, Texas, with more than 275 employees, Enviromatic is a leading provider of mission-critical building management systems and facility control solutions. The company specializes in the design, engineering, integration, and installation of building automation and controls as well as ongoing maintenance services. The company’s offerings focus on mechanical and electrical energy-efficiency applications, enabling cohesively connected facility operating systems across the municipal, university, school, and healthcare end markets (“MUSH” markets).
Audax originally invested in Enviromatic through its lower middle market origins strategy in July 2023. During its hold period, Audax invested in the buildout of Enviromatic’s leadership team and operational infrastructure while pursuing organic growth initiatives and executing a disciplined M&A strategy to expand into new geographies, add adjacent service offerings, and establish new OEM relationships. Enviromatic completed two add-on acquisitions under Audax ownership and achieved strong top and bottom-line growth.
“Enviromatic Systems is an established provider of building management systems and automation controls solutions,” said Cascadia Capital. “The company’s partnership with Wind Point represents a strong opportunity to capitalize on the significant growth potential and the platform of opportunities that Enviromatic and Audax have developed together over the past three years. We are proud to have served as an advisor to Audax and Enviromatic in this important milestone and to help bring together two partners with a shared vision for long-term value creation.”
“Building automation is now a need-to-have category, and successful businesses combine design and engineering with installation and maintenance. This creates a comprehensive and complementary suite of services, based on technology, that supports the life cycle of a system,” added Firdaus Pohowalla, Managing Director at Cascadia Capital. “Enviromatic is an example of how these capabilities can be integrated into one platform, and we look forward to its continued growth.”
“This transaction highlights the steady pace of sponsor-to-sponsor activity in the lower middle market,” said Scott Ames, Head of Cascadia’s Financial Sponsors Group. “Well-positioned assets with strong management teams and specialized service offerings continue to transact, particularly in sectors with durable demand drivers like building automation and energy efficiency.”
