“Our clients put their companies and often their life’s work in our hands and it is our responsibility to deliver a superior outcome. It is a responsibility that we think about from the moment we wake up until the time we go to bed.”
Making sure that we deliver superior results to our clients. Trust enables the client to put their company in our hands. Experience enables us to make good decisions on behalf of our clients and independence ensures that our decisions are conflict free and in the best interests of our clients.
Helping people realize their dreams. Whether it is the family that is looking to monetize the business they have spent their entire lives building, or the entrepreneur who is looking to raise capital to realize his or her dream.
When Kevin Cable and I founded Cascadia, the Pacific Northwest was the only region in the country that did not have a resident, locally-owned, high-class investment bank. We have been, and still are, passionate about building the firm through providing our clients superior advice, service and outcomes.
In addition to managing the firm, Michael has deep capital raising and M&A expertise having been involved in hundreds of transactions worth over $5 billion throughout his career on Wall Street and at Cascadia Capital.
His current focus is on Food & Agribusiness and Energy & Applied Technology companies. He possesses a deep rolodex of funding and corporate relationships that have been built over 25 years in the investment banking business.
Michael’s focus is working with business owners who have spent all, or a good part, of their lives building their companies and have found themselves at an inflection point. He tries to bring an objective and experienced perspective to assist them with their decision making process.
The Co-founder and Chairman of Cascadia Capital, Michael manages the firm and co-leads the firm’s Energy & Applied Technology, and Food & Agribusiness practices. Michael has been involved in over 100 transactions while at Cascadia Capital.
Prior to co-founding Cascadia, he served as a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers responsible for global equity sales and equity syndicate. He also served on the firm’s Equity Commitment Committee, Equity Syndicate Committee and Private Equity Commitment Committee. Before joining Lehman Brothers, Michael was a Principal with Morgan Stanley & Company, where he was responsible for divisional global product and risk management and was a member of the division’s Operating Committee. He has been involved in numerous equity financing transactions for both public and private companies.
Michael holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Washington and an M.B.A. in International Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
