Cascadia Capital Plays Ongoing Strategic Financing Role for Wireless Software Leader

Challenge

A leading provider of activity management business system software to wireless carriers and other network operators, Qpass came to Cascadia Capital in mid-2002 seeking advisory services related to financing alternatives. Qpass wanted an assessment of its strategic alternatives, both from a capital raising and potential exit opportunities perspective.

Solution

Cascadia Capital leveraged its capital markets relationships and industry expertise to evaluate potential financing alternatives for Qpass. Based on preliminary feedback from the capital markets on Qpass' business and market opportunity, Cascadia Capital recommended restructuring the company's capital structure in order to access growth capital through Cascadia Capital's relationships.

Results

Cascadia Capital worked with existing Qpass investors and the management team to improve the company's capital structure. Following the restructuring, Cascadia Capital brought new investors—private equity firm Westbury Partners and venture capital firm Granite Global—into the Series B round of financing.
