Cascadia Capital Brings in Leading Influential Private Equity Investor Westbury Partners for AirWave Wireless

Challenge

AirWave Wireless, a San Mateo, CA based provider of adaptive RF network management software for wireless local area networks (WLANs), engaged Cascadia Capital in the first quarter of 2004 to assist with raising a Series D round of financing. AirWave retained Cascadia Capital due to its recent transaction experience (including three 802.11 financings over the previous 12 months), domain expertise and Cascadia's capital markets relationships within the WLAN sector.

Solution

Cascadia Capital levered its knowledge of the investor base and its domain expertise in the wireless sector to effectively differentiate and position the Company in the historically well-funded Wi-Fi sector. Cascadia Capital's strong investor relationships on both Coasts allowed AirWave to gain access to high-quality firms with deep domain expertise in the wireless industry.

Results

Cascadia Capital delivered multiple competing term sheets from both the East and West Coasts inside of three months. The Company ultimately chose Westbury Partners to lead the transaction whom, along with existing investors Ignition Partners and Idealab, rank among the leading influential private equity investors focused on the high tech industry.
