Cascadia Capital Adds Senior Talent To Seattle Office

Growing West Coast Investment Bank Appoints Seasoned CFO And Three Managing Directors

April 28, 2004 (SEATTLE, WA) -- Cascadia Capital, a national investment bank focused on serving emerging growth and middle market companies, announced today that it has added several new senior people to its growing Seattle headquarters. Cascadia Capital offers corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, strategic advisory services, and capital market services. The firm, which focuses on Information Technology, Communications, Security & Defense, Healthcare and Industrial & Consumer markets, was founded with the goal of addressing the absence of investment banking services for emerging growth and middle-market companies. Since November 2002, the firm has closed 23 transactions totaling more than $500 million.

  • Nancy Greer has been appointed to Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer. Previously, Greer was the Executive Vice President, Principal and Chief Financial Officer of Howard Johnson & Company where her responsibilities included strategic planning, finance and accounting, systems, human resources, real estate and administration. Before Howard Johnson & Company, Greer served as Vice President and Treasurer for Seattle Holdings Corporation, a retail holding company active in leveraged acquisitions and divestitures, where she oversaw $250 million in investments, as well as the compliance side of nearly $1 billion in public and bank debt. Greer holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Drew University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Farleigh Dickinson University.
  • Greg Cox has been appointed to Managing Director, Special Situations Group. Cox will source and execute M&A and corporate finance transactions as well as manage venture capital and private equity relationships for Cascadia Capital. Most recently, Cox was a Principal in the private equity arm of a Midwest-based Fortune 500 company, where he worked primarily in the venture capital space. Previously, Cox spent most of his career as a corporate lawyer, with much of that time at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Silicon Valley. Cox holds an AB (with Distinction and Honors) in Political Science and Economics from Stanford University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa; an M.B.A from the Stanford Business School; and a JD from the Stanford Law School.
  • Christian Schiller has been appointed to Managing Director, Financial Sponsors Group. Schiller is responsible for sourcing and executing transactions with the nation's leading private equity funds across the spectrum of growth equity to buyouts. Previously, Schiller was Managing Director, Mergers & Acquisitions for Cook Associates where he led over 30 transactions from $10 million to $800 million in valuation. While there, Schiller was also responsible for co-founding CEOVisions®, a program which arranged over $800 million of equity funding for CEOs to acquire companies. Previously, Schiller was Vice President of Business Development with Maxim Partners, a Chicago-based private equity group. Schiller holds a B.A. with Honors in Economics from Carleton College.
  • In addition, Warren Gouk has been promoted to Managing Director of Cascadia Capital's Mergers & Acquisitions practice. He will oversee all M&A, restructuring and leveraged buy-out transactions for the firm. Gouk has played an instrumental role in building the M&A group into a national practice that leverages the firm's coverage in information technology, communications, security & defense, and healthcare. Prior to Cascadia Capital, Gouk spent more than six years with Volpe Brown Whelan & Co. and PricewaterhouseCoopers Investment Banking, where he was responsible for executing, structuring and negotiating buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions for private and public middle market companies. Gouk holds a degree in Finance and Economics from the University of British Columbia and has received his Chartered Accountant (CA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designations.

"Banking is a very people-oriented business and the quality and experience of the team is critical to a firm's long-term success. These individuals are 'best-in-class' and we are extremely proud to be bringing them on board," said Kevin Cable, Executive Vice President of Cascadia Capital.
